CHS Mechanical Services Inc. brings extensive hands-on experience servicing mill circuit and large-scale centrifugal pumps across mining and heavy industrial operations. We have worked with all major centrifugal pump manufacturers and understand the unique design characteristics, tolerances, and wear patterns associated with each.

Our team is highly skilled in opening, inspecting, and evaluating pump assemblies to accurately determine when wear components require replacement. By thoroughly assessing impellers, liners, shafts, seals, and bearings, we help clients make informed maintenance decisions that optimize performance while controlling costs.

Using advanced laser alignment technology, we align drive and driven components within 0.0015” to reduce vibration, extend equipment life, and improve overall reliability.

Our capabilities include full rebuilds of high-capacity units such as the MCR 650 — one of the largest mill circuit pumps in operation — which we can complete within a single 12-hour shift. This level of efficiency, coordination, and technical expertise minimizes downtime without compromising safety or quality.

With proven experience across major pump platforms and demanding site conditions, CHS Mechanical Services Inc. delivers precision, reliability, and performance where it matters most

This impeller is exhibiting extreme wear as a result of wear components remaining in service beyond their recommended lifespan. Operating past scheduled service intervals can significantly reduce pump efficiency, increase vibration, and lead to costly secondary damage.

This example highlights the importance of regular inspections and adherence to recommended service intervals for mill circuit pumps. Proactive maintenance not only protects critical components but also improves performance and extends overall equipment life.

Our knowledgeable team has the experience to accurately assess pump condition, evaluate efficiency loss, and recommend the most suitable wear components for your specific process and operating conditions — helping you maintain reliability while controlling maintenance costs

This throat bushing from a Warman 650 experienced premature failure due to incorrect product setup and improper internal clearances. Properly setting the frame plate liner and throat bushing clearances in relation to the impeller is critical to maintaining hydraulic efficiency and protecting wear components.

When clearances are not set in accordance with manufacturer specifications, pump efficiency decreases, recirculation increases, and accelerated wear occurs. Excessive throat bushing clearance, as seen in this case, allows increased turbulence and material bypass, leading to rapid degradation and early component failure.

Correct setup and precise adjustment are essential to maximizing wear life and maintaining optimal pump performance. Our team ensures all internal clearances are accurately measured and set to specification to prevent premature failures and protect your critical mill circuit equipment

Our team is performing precision laser alignment on a mill circuit pump using advanced alignment systems from Easy-Laser®. This technology allows us to accurately align rotating equipment to within 0.001 mm, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing vibration, bearing wear, and coupling stress.

Our equipment enables us to align horizontal machines, vertical flange-mounted units, and even cardan shaft connections with confidence and accuracy. By utilizing digital measurement systems, we eliminate guesswork and significantly improve reliability and repeatability.

Upon completion, we provide a comprehensive alignment report that includes before-and-after readings, photographic documentation, asset identification numbers, and any relevant findings observed during the job. This documentation supports maintenance records, compliance requirements, and long-term equipment performance tracking
